25 Years of Servant Leadership

For a quarter of a century, Dr. Ammar Saheli has poured his heart into ministry preaching, teaching, mentoring, comforting, leading, and interceding. On this special day, we honor:

  • His 25th Ministerial Anniversary
  • His Ordination as an Elder

These milestones reflect a lifetime of devotion to God’s people and God’s calling.

The Journey of a Kingdom Servant

Dr. Saheli began preaching at just 12 years old at the Uptown Church of Christ in San Francisco. Raised by faithful mentors such as his father, John Jeffrey, James E. Austin, Jr., and the late Tino and Pacita Serrano, he was called early into a life of spiritual depth and servant leadership. Since January 2001, Dr. Saheli has served as the Ministering Evangelist at West Oakland Church of Christ, transforming lives through sound doctrine, social justice advocacy, and authentic love.

A Scholar and Shepherd

In addition to his ministerial calling, Dr. Saheli has built a reputation as a respected educator, counselor, and author:

  • Director of Student Support Services, San Lorenzo Unified School District
  • CEO of Saheli7 Educational Consulting
  • Adjunct Professor, San Francisco State University
  • Author: Eerie Silence: Race/Racism Explored Across Educational, Theological, and Justice Continuums

Academic Highlights:

  • BA in Psychology – San Francisco State University
  • MS in Counseling – San Francisco State University
  • Ed.D. in International & Multicultural Education – University of San Francisco
  • Credentials in Counseling (PPS) and Administration

A Foundation Rooted in Faith & Family

Dr. Saheli is the devoted husband of Tonya Saheli, and together they have raised five children: Sade, Najja, Zion, Shiloh, and Seven Enoch (deceased). His life is anchored in God, grounded in family, and driven by a mission to love and lead well.

A Day to Say Thank You

Over the past 25 years, Dr. Saheli has:

Baptized and discipled believers

Buried and comforted grieving families

Married couples and mentored men

Uplifted youth and empowered the community

Now it’s our turn to give honor and celebrate this faithful servant.
